We have encapsulated this crawl space in Saint-Saveur through isolating the house from the ground with the CleanSpace vapor barrier and installing the SmartDrain that allows the crawl space to be protected in case of a plumbing leak by intercepting the water and alarming you with the problem.
Mr. Rees has lived in his house for 3 years. He noticed that there was mold in his crawl space and that there was an unpleasant smell in the house. He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec to fix the situation quickly so that it would not get worse.
Once the free inspection was completed by our specialist, he found the following issues:
- Water infiltration on the floor of the crawl space
- Pump not sufficient to remove water from the crawl space
- Very humid crawl space
- Mold on wood and rusty pipes in the crawl space.
What our experts did? They removed all the debris that were in the crawl space, installed our SmartSump sump pump, placed our membrane on the ground that allows water to drain on the ground surface to the sump pump, installed our liner Cleanspace over the membrane and then connected our Sanidry dehumidifier.
With all of these elements, mold growth is eliminated and Mr Rees' crawl space is dry and clean! The foul odor will thus disappear and he will be able to find the comfort in his home.
A wet crawl space is unhealthy since it leads to a range of health and safety problems in your home. These can include mold growth, pest invasions and even rotted floor joists.
The best way to avoid the headaches caused by these problems is to encapsulate the area as we did here in Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs.
First we installed the CleanSpace membrane which is an ultra-resistant coating specially made for crawl spaces. Then we installed a SuperSump pump with very high pumping volumes, for freezing line protection we installed our IceGuard accessory, and finally to dry and purify the air, we installed our SaniDry XP air dehumidification system.
Problem: Our client who lives in the city of Sainte-Adèle had an odor and humidity problem in her crawl space. Being uninsulated and having high humidity level created the odor. One day our client decided to call us to change this situation and we went to this lady's residence to assess what could be done.
Solution: Our certified specialist installed our CleanSpace membrane made for crawl spaces all over it. Also, below it, there is a drainage membrane, which redirects water to our SmartSump pump, which draws water out of your home. Moreover, we have installed a product called the SilverGlow, in order to isolate the crawl space.
So to sum it up you will have protection, with a membrane that directs water to the pump located under the CleanSpace, which sends water to the pump and you will have thermal insulation that insulates the crawl space in a very efficient way.
After our intervention, this client never felt an odor and now can enjoy her dry crawl space.
Our customer in Saint-Colomban noticed that he had signs of moisture problems in his crawl space. We offered to come for a free inspection. During this inspection, our specialist Alexandrine discovered several signs of moisture problems, such as rotten wood pillars, degraded foam insulation, efflorescence, and rusted pipes. Relative humidity in the crawl space was measured at over 80%, well above the recommended 55%. She decided that the best way to solve these problems was to completely insulate and encapsulate the crawl space.
To begin, our team removed the old insulation to install the SilverGlo™ waterproof insulation. Next, they installed CleanSpace Crawl Space Vapor Barrier, a durable 20-millimeter-thick sheathing system that resists tearing and offers better protection against moisture intrusion than thinner, more widely available solutions. Finally, they installed a powerful SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, which removes 2.9 liters of water per kilowatt-hour (L/kWh). After our team's hard work, our customer no longer has to worry about moisture in his crawl space and the consequences it brings. Thank you for trusting us with your project, Mr. Craig!
