Mr. Moran over time noticed that there was a high level of humidity in his house, his wooden floors began to warp and an unpleasant smell of mold was circulating in the house. He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec in order to have a permanent and reliable solution!
The problem
Well this is the crawl space!
- Water infiltration
- Lack of insulation
This made the crawl space very humid. The humidity affected the wooden floor causing it to curl slightly, causing this foul odor and affecting our client's comfort in their home.
The solution
- Insulate the walls of the crawl space with our SilverGlo insulating panels.
- Lay our drainage mat on the ground in order to drain the water from the surface to the SmartSump sump pump system that was in place.
- Install our CleanSpace coating designed to block humidity and thus insulate the floor of the house. It also gives a clean and bright appearance to the crawl space.
- Add our Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier. It filters the air and eliminates moisture.
With this encapsulation solution, Mr. Moran will no longer have a problem with humidity and foul odor. It now has a dry crawl space!
Because the crawl space is a below-grade space under the house, you might think it’s normal to have a moisty crawl space. After all, the ground gets wet and dries throughout the seasons and with weather patterns event.
So when our client who owns a house in Hemmingford started suffering from moisture in her house, she contacted us asking for some recommendations.
We went to her house, and encapsulated her crawl space by installing our most efficient products in the market: A Cleanspace Liner to block water vapor, a SmartDrain to collect water seepage which is designed specifically for crawl spaces and a Sanidry Cx to keep the air dry.
The SaniDry Cx dehumidifier is a powerful system that is appropriate for the basement and crawl space environment alike, and is able to remove up to 109 Pints of water daily.
