This Manchester, CT roof was 23 years old and beginning to show signs of its age, with algae streaks and prevalent discoloration. The overhauled roof came equipped with all new aluminum seamless gutters & downspouts, as well as the 'seal, defend and breathe. Balanced attic ventilation, protection against nature's elements and a water-proof barrier are all components that must work in conjunction with one another, to be a functioning roof system. Every Klaus Larsen roof is installed with strict adherence to this criterion.
Whether your home is small or large the time comes when the roof needs to be replaced. It could be because the roof is leaking or you it may be that the roof is just old and you don't want it to start leaking. This home had a roof had 3-tab shingles that were over 20 years old which is about how long a 3-tab shingle will last. By this point, the shingles had become completely blackened by algae. Our crews came and started around 7:00 am. They attached tarps to the roof edge before tearing the roof off. Then they removed the old skylight and covered the opening with plywood. Next, we installed self-sealing Ice & Water barrier nine feet up the roof. The crew also installed it around the dormer and in the valleys to protect those vulnerable areas. Above the Ice & Water, the Synthetic underlayment was nailed down.
This 21-year-old home needed a new roof replacement and had damage from ice dams this past winter. To ensure that no moisture can pass through this roof, we installed three rows of Ice & Water Shield and ProArmor Synthetic Underlayment. To provide top-notch attic ventilation we put in a new VentSure Ridge Vent. This home will no longer have to worry about any future ice dams this upcoming winter season.
Located in Manchester, CT, this cape-style home was in desperate need of a new roof. The roof had significant leaks and water damage, especially around the sunroom area of the home. To protect the structural integrity of the home we tore off all of the damaged decking and replaced it with new sheets of plywood. The sunroom, which had leaking issues is a flat roof which required a different kind of roofing system. Now, this charming home can face the winter worry-free of any leaks or water damage.
This charming cape-cod style house was in need of a new roof. The existing shingles on this home were single-tabbed shingles, which are less thick than architectural shingles so they need to be replaced sooner. We stripped the old shingles and sent them to an asphalt recycling center to be recycled into new roads. We then replaced any damaged plywood decking. These homeowners can sleep well knowing they not only recycled their old roof but got a new durable, warrantied roof that will last them years and years.
