David M. is a homeowner in Hutchinson, KS and was concerned with a small section of his driveway concrete that borders the garage. The section had settled over time and cracked in places that allowed water to seep underneath towards his foundation. David was familiar with Thrasher’s extensive reputation, and in order to find a permanent solution he gave us a call.
To begin the project, System Design Specialist AJ LaVoie arrived at the home in Hutchinson, KS to perform a full inspection on the problematic section of concrete. AJ determined that the downspout right next to the driveway was dumping water towards the foundation and washing out the soil underneath. This created large voids and allowed for the concrete to settle and crack. David opted to have Thrasher install our 2-Part Concrete Protection System that consists of PolyLevel foam and NexusPro sealer. PolyLevel is installed first by injecting it underneath to the fill the voids in order to lift and level the concrete permanently. NexusPro is then applied to all cracks and control joints to prevent water from entering through the surface. To finish the project, our team buried the downspout that was the root cause of the sunken concrete to guarantee David doesn’t have to detail with concrete problems in the future.
David couldn’t have been more impressed with the project. We were able to restore his peace of mind and provide him with the permanent solution his concrete needed. He was impressed with our crews display of professionalism and efficiency throughout the project.
Cindy A. is a homeowner in Hutchinson, KS and has dealt with water issues in the basement for a majority of the 35 years she’s lived there. Lately, she’s been considering selling the home and wants to ensure it would bring maximum value, but with the wet basement she wasn’t sure it would sell. Based on our reputation and recommendations from her loved ones, she chose Thrasher to come waterproof her wet basement.
To begin the basement waterproofing project, System Design Specialist Robert Griffin arrived at the home in Hutchinson, KS to inspect the problems at hand. Robert concluded that the foundation had been allowing water and moisture in due to the lack of an exterior footing drain. The home was built in the 1970s and was originally constructed without one. This caused the walls to crack and begin to bow inward. To guarantee the basement stays dry permanently, Cindy had our teams install a combination of our waterproofing products. We began by installing our WaterGuard interior drainage system and CleanSpace waterproof barrier around the full perimeter of the basement. Then, a TripleSafe sump pump was installed to drain the water effectively outside. To conclude the project, our team buried the downspouts on the exterior of the home to prevent any water from building up against the foundation walls.
Cindy was not only thrilled with the outcome, but she was relieved to have her basement restored to a dry and safe environment once again. Thrasher was able to help Cindy regain her peace of mind and give her the confidence she needs by increasing her home’s value.
These homeowners had several large cracks on the side of their driveway near the garage. They were also experiencing some settling and voids in other areas concerning them. They were looking for a company that could fix it well and not cost an arm and a leg. So they called Thrasher. Beau Morris went out to their home to do the inspection. He found that the soil from underneath the slab was washed out, and that's why voids were appearing and cracking the concrete.
To fix this issue, we used our concrete protection 2-part system, including PolyLevel, to lift and level the settled concrete and then NexusPro to seal all joints and cracks.
The homeowners were amazed with the finished product, and happy Thrasher could get it done.
This homeowner was having water pool up next to their steps at their front door. This was due to a concrete slab that had sunk 2.5".
We came out and lifted the concrete back to its original position by using PolyLevel. We then used Nexus Pro to seal the concrete joints where the slab was up against the house. This will prevent water from getting in between the concrete and the house.
This homeowner was in need of some work on their front porch! Unlevel steps and cracks in the concrete can create a big tripping hazard leading up to your home. Our crew was able to solve this problem by lifting the concrete back level with PolyLevel, and then sealing the joints and cracks with NexusPro joint sealant.
