This homeowner wanted to pass his home to his brother when he passes, so he wanted to ensure that his home was in the best possible shape first. He knew of our reputation, and he had seen our commercials on TV, so he decided to give us a call.
We sent System Design Specialist Mike Schmidt to inspect this homeowner's home and determine what work the homeowner wanted to have done. The homeowner directed Mike to the garage area, and Mike found that the walls of the garage had wall deflection caused by hydrostatic pressure, and the concrete had settled and cracked in the garage as well as all around the garage. Mike knew that he needed to split this project into 2 parts to ensure that the homeowner would have the best results for his home, so Mike first focused on the garage wall issue, then the concrete problem.
Mike scheduled 2 installation appointments to fix the problems for the homeowner. In the first appointment, one of our installation teams utilized PowerBraces to permanently stabilize the walls in the garage. In the the second appointment, another one of our installation teams utilized our 3-part Concrete Protection System which includes, PolyLevel foam to lift and level the concrete, NexusPro sealant to seal the cracks and joints of the concrete, and SealantPro to waterproof and seal the concrete surface area.
The homeowner was extremely happy with the results. After the installation appointments, he emailed Mike to tell him how "the concrete had never looked so good" and that he was "pleased with the projects." Check out the first installation of PowerBraces in the garage!
Longtime homeowner Cindy B. has been noticing her concrete is settling. The worse area was her front steps which has settled so much there had become a major trip hazard. Concerned about the rest of the concrete not being safe, she decided to call Thrasher for concrete repair services.
System Design Specialist Britton Wood went out to Cindy’s home. He was able to recognize that 4 slabs in the driveway had settled. Also, the stair were below code raising concern for safety and caulking in the driveway was coming up and flaking. We used PolyLevel for the concrete slabs and stairs, this raised and leveled the area back up to a safe height. We sealed all the cracks and caulking with NexusPro Joint Sealant. Cindy was pleased to have all of the concrete back up to code!
Homeowner Joy M. was struggling with the drywall in her bedroom and office. She also noticed the floor was starting to slope. Concerned about further damage happening, she wanted to get a permanent fix. After hearing about Thrasher from family, she decided to give us a call.
System Design Specialist Mike Lutmer went out to her home. He was able to identify that the home was starting to settle and one of the walls in the basement was bowing. We installed push piers to lift and level the area where the settling had occurred. We also used Geo-Lock Anchors to stabilize the lower level and prevent further damage from occurring. Joy was thrilled with the final outcome and the teamwork from the crew.
This homeowner's front steps were sinking and settling into the soil beneath them. Specifically, the spot where the porch meets the steps had a really low dip due to washout and soil erosion. To fix, we drilled pea-size holes and injected PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam, that lifts and levels sunken concrete. We then caulked and sealed the steps to prevent any future water intrusion.
A recent foundation repair job we did installing piers to this sinking home!
