Take a look at the before and after of this homeowner's basement wall. There was some movement of the wall, leaning in and allowing water in. To fix the issue, Thrasher Foundation Repair came out to install our waterproof encapsulation, Cleanspace, and Power Braces to keep the water out of the basement and straighten the wall back out over time. 

Geilesha K. was noticing some moisture in her recently purchased home in Des Moines, IA. After removing some of the drywall she discovered that the foundation was bowing in and crumbling. She heard about Thrasher Foundation Repair and the good warranties we offered with our products, so she gave us a call to learn more about bowing wall solutions.

System Design Specialist Nicholas Hruska went out to Geilesha’s home. During the inspection, he was able to identify that two of the walls were crumbling and bowing several inches. The crew installed PowerBraces and a wall anchor system to permanently stabilize the foundation. Then applied ShotLock over the walls, making them look new again. Geilesha was extremely happy with how the walls looked when the project was finished and very happy with the efficiency of the crew.

The support beams in this basement were not installed properly and were not able to support the load causing the floors of the home to sag. After installing our Smart Jack System, the foundation of the home is now supported properly, and this customer can feel safe in their basement. 

Jennifer C. recently purchased a home in Leon, IA with plans to restore the house to increase its value. The home is over one-hundred years old, and the basement is experiencing extreme wall failure. It has a brick foundation with mortar joints that were deteriorating, and the walls were bowing inward. Familiar with our reputation, she gave us at Thrasher a call to permanently repair her foundation.

System Design Specialist Tyler Dopheide arrived in Leon, IA and began inspecting the foundation of the home. For extreme wall failure, our team utilized the Shotlock Restoration System and PowerBrace Wall Support to prevent the walls from collapsing. Shotlock is combined with our GeoLock wall anchors in order to stabilize the failing foundation. The PowerBrace System is then installed to tighten and make the bowing walls sit more vertical without any external excavation. These two products paired together can stabilize even the most severe failing walls.

Jennifer was thrilled with the appearance of the basement walls and felt liberated knowing the foundation was secure. She now has the confidence needed to begin the remodeling process of her newly purchased home.

The customer's main concerns were keeping this her forever home and making sure it holds property value. She takes pride in her home and really stressed it holds a ton of sentimental value.  She chose Thrasher Foundation Repair because we took the time to explain the process and provide clarity on what will be done, and we had great communication fitting around her schedule. The major problem we found with the foundation was the walls failing. The worst wall had a deflection of 2 1/2 inches. Air and water were getting in through a couple of cracks that has formed on her wall. That caused, hydrostatic pressure over time pushing on the wall allowing it to get to stage 2 wall failure. 

We were able to fix the problem and give the homeowner peace of mind that her wall would not bow in any further and possibly straighten the wall by bracing the wall with our PowerBraces. We were able to secure 3 of our lever bracket style PowerBraces to her worst wall.

She was very happy with the installation and very pleased with how fast and efficient the crew was. This project stands out because on the day we were out there, she knew she had wall failure but didn't know how bad it was. I quoted two walls and this wall was the worst. She was a little hesitant but after reassuring her that our braces would stop the movement of the wall, we would service the braces once a year, and there is a possibility of the wall straightening over time made her have the peace of mind of keeping her house in great shape to last her lifetime.
