Homeowners of this Belfast, Maine crawl space had experienced mold problems, and had already had a mold remediation company come to clean up the space. The owners wanted to be sure they would not have to deal with mold again. We encapsulated the crawl space with drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace seals moisture out, and is also treated to be mold resistant so mold will not grow on it. We also installed Spray Foam insulation along the walls and rim joists. Spray Foam not only improves the energy efficiency of the space, but it is also mold resistant as well. Our permanent solutions will keep this crawl space dry and mold free!
System Design Specialist Mark S. met with a Hampden, ME homeowner to give a free estimate on repairing their leaking basement. Their slab was cracking and water was seeping in, causing headaches for the homeowner. We poured a new slab, along with slab WaterGuard to help channel any water or moisture to the new TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup. The TripleSafe drains water out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that is protected against ice buildup in the winter with IceGuard. CleanSpace Wall System was installed to act as a vapor barrier where needed and channel any additional moisture from the walls to the WaterGuard. CleanSpace walls are durable, easy to clean, and never discolor, giving this basement a bright, fresh look!
We recently helped a church in Searsport, Maine with their wet and leaking basement. Water was coming in through the old rock walls, and had even caused mold. After mold remediation, the church contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help waterproofing the space to prevent any future issues. We encapsulated the area with CleanSpace vapor barrier, which seals out water. CleanSpace is made from an inorganic material, so it also prevents mold growth. Spray Foam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists to provide an added air and moisture seal, as well as energy improvements for the building.
After consulting a contractor, this homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to have their musty crawlspace protected by a vapor barrier installation. When our crew arrived at the Glenburn, ME home, they got started by laying a Drainage Matting across the leveled floor of the crawlspace. Next, the support piers received Pier Wrapping and the entire space was encapsulated by a CleanSpace liner. This covered the crawlspace with a water-tight seal that would prevent future moisture build up in the atmosphere below this home. Finally, gaps in the joists above the crawlspace were filled in Spray Foam insulation, to allow the homeowner more efficiency when heating or cooling their home.
With these new installations put in below their home, this homeowner will no longer suffer from musty air emanating from their crawlspace. The CleanSpace liner will ensure this crawlspace remains moisture-free for years down the road.
