Installing a Crawl Space Vapor Barrier in Bath, Maine

Owners in Bath, Maine shared that their crawl space was very wet and they did not want to develop any mold or rot problems. We encapsulated their crawl space with our two step system, featuring drainage matting to control the groundwater and a CleanSpace vapor barrier liner on top. CleanSpace seals moisture out of the crawl space, keeping the wooden beams and floor joists protected from damage.

Bath, Maine Crawl Space Encapsulation Project

We helped homeowners in Bath, Maine to encapsulate their wet crawl space. The crawl space had no insulation and water was coming in, which can lead to larger structural problems for the home like mold or wood rot. We installed our two-step encapsulation which includes a layer of drainage matting followed by our CleanSpace vapor barrier liner. CleanSpace seals out moisture, and is treated to prevent mold growth. We also installed Spray Foam insulation on the walls and rim joists. Spray Foam immediately improves the energy efficiency of the home, and it is water resistant, making it a great option for crawl spaces.

Encapsulating Damp Crawl Space in Bath, Maine

We worked with a general contractor to encapsulate this damp crawl space in Saco, Maine. The general contractor was replacing rotted support beams that had been caused by the moisture in the crawl space. Dirt floors allow moisture to seep in, leading to big problems like mold and rot. We installed our two-step encapsulation system, consisting of a layer of drainage matting and a CleanSpace vapor barrier liner. CleanSpace seals out moisture, and is treated to prevent mold growth. We also installed a SmartSump and SaniDry Sedona. The SmartSump pump removes groundwater by pumping it away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The SaniDry Sedona is a high efficiency air system that both filters allergens from the air, while also controlling humidity. The SaniDry Sedona can remove over 100 pints of water from the air per day!

Waterproofing Wet Crawl Space in West Bath, Maine

Buyers were under contract to purchase this West Bath, Maine home when a home inspection revealed water issues with the crawl space. They contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help evaluating the cause of the problem, and how to fix it. We encapsulated the crawl space with drainage matting on the floor to control groundwater, and CleanSpace vapor barrier on the floor and walls to seal out water. Spray Foam insulation was installed along the rim joists to help seal the CleanSpace, and provide energy efficiency improvements. Spray Foam insulation is also water and mold resistant, so it's a great product to utilize in below grade spaces.

Waterproofing Flooded Crawl Space in Bath, Maine

We helped a homeowner in Bath, Maine who had a "gully" running through her crawl space, allowing water to essentially create a stream below her home. We were able to transform the damp and musty crawl space into a dry and clean area. To handle the water we installed a TripleSafe sump pump, that collects groundwater and pumps it away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The crawl space was also encapsulated with drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier to seal moisture out. Spray Foam insulation was installed along the rim joists to seal up the CleanSpace and improve the energy efficiency of the crawl space. Not pictured, we also installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to ensure the crawl space was kept at a healthy humidity level, preventing moisture.
