BrightWall & Waterproofing in Yarmouth, ME

A Yarmouth, ME condo owner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their basement water issues. System Design Specialist Michael M. provided a free estimate for the necessary repairs to prevent future water damage.

Our crew worked closely with the Association to complete the repairs. We installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement, channeling any water to the brand new TripleSafe Sump Pump. We also installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to help control moisture in the space. TrenchDrain was placed around the oil tank and other tanks to help collect any condensation and take it to the sump pump. We also installed BrighWall, a vapor barrier for the basement walls that inhibits the growth of mold and rot, is easy to clean, and never discolors.

Rain Leads to Wet Basement in Leeds, ME

Leeds, ME homeowners called TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their wet basement. Every time it rained the basement would flood. They wanted to know their options for a sump pump system. We installed our TripleSafe sump pump to keep their basement dry and protected. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller pumps to handle high capacity water events, and so there is a back up pump if one fails. The system also has a battery back up to keep the sump pump operating even in the event of power loss. The homeowners no longer have to clean up a wet mess!

Waterproofing Before a New Slab Floor

This Leeds, ME homeowner was on their wits' end after having their walls and floors ruined because of their basement flooding. They wanted to be able to finish the space and actually use it instead of their basement being an object for nightmares. Exhausted and ready to solve their water intrusion problems, the homeowner booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Nick Ciciarelli met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a waterproofing system specifically designed for their home.

Wanting their basement dry all the time, they opted for a full Slab with WaterGuard system to ensure they can finally remodel their basement without the risk of their work being ruined by water. A lot of work goes into prepping the basement for the new system, starting with Drainage Matting being laid down. Drainage Matting creates an inorganic barrier between the new slab and the outside elements while aiding in channeling water to prevent hydrostatic pressure from building up. WaterGuard is installed around the perimeter to capture water and channel it to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe Sump Pump is capable of taking all the water and pumping it out of the basement through the new Exterior Buried Discharge Line. The Buried Discharge Line takes the water far from the home where it won’t cause any issues, and with the installed IceGuard, the system is protected against ice build-up, keeping the system running all year, even during freezing winter months. To finish the waterproofing system, the slab will be poured and a SaniDry XP will be installed to keep humidity levels at a safe level. The SaniDry XP drains to the TripleSafe so the homeowner will never have to worry about emptying a bucket of water, and the SaniDry XP can do its job all the time.

Now the homeowner can remodel their basement and be confident that their basement will be dry all the time.

WaterGaurd With a SuperSump Will Keep This Basement In Durham, NH Dry

WaterGuard Installation Protects Durham, ME Basement from Standing Water

Even with a sump in their basement floor, this Durham, ME homeowner would still find standing water gathering on the floor. Tired of needing to vacuum this water out themselves, the homeowner contacted us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to see if we could provide a solution to their problem. After receiving their free estimate, this homeowner gave us the go-ahead to begin work on their basement. As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on the basement floor by excavating the perimeter to create room for our WaterGuard piping to be laid. Buried below a fresh layer of concrete around the perimeter of the floor, these pipes will capture moisture entering the basement through the foundation. The trapped moisture will flow through the WaterGuard to the nearby SuperSump pump that was connected directly to the piping. This new pump will force the water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line at a rate over 2,600 gallons per hour. Finally, IceGuard and LawnScape pipe segments were attached to the discharge line to provide further protection. The IceGuard section gives any water blocked by ice a path to escape the line before backing up into the home while the LawnScape end piece covers the line with a grate to keep out any debris that may cause blockages.

With the WaterGuard gathering leaking moisture and the SuperSump removing it from the home, this homeowner should no longer find their basement flooded after any rainfall!
