During heavy rainfall, this homeowner always found their basement would take on water through the concrete foundation. To put an end to this, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and after we gave them a free estimate, they hired us to get the job done. Upon arriving at the home, our crew got started on installing WaterGuard piping around the perimeter of the floor, buried just below the surface. The WaterGuard will capture any moisture leaking through the floor in the future and guide the captured water to the TripleSafe sump system installed in the floor. Lastly, a CleanSpace Wall System was put in place around the entire basement. This barrier will collect any water leaking through the walls and feed it directly into the WaterGuard below.
With a properly waterproofed basement, this homeowner will never again find their basement full of water after a heavy rain!
Over the past year, this Falmouth, ME homeowner has been dealing with water in their basement and, wanting to use the space, decided it was time to tackle the issue. Wanting to make sure their basement stayed dry, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. System Design Specialist Lou DiStasio worked with the homeowner to design a system that would channel water, keeping the basement dry and the homeowners’ belongings safe.
The homeowner wanted to keep their whole basement dry year-round, so WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of their basement. The WaterGuard channels the water to a connected TripleSafe Sump Pump that is connected to a Buried Exterior Discharge Line. In high-traffic areas such as doorways, TrenchLock is installed in place of WaterGuard to ensure all water is being collected. To finish off the system and keep the homeowners’ belongings safe, a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed. Unlike most dehumidifiers, the SaniDry Sedona is connected to the TripleSafe Sump Pump, so the homeowner never has to worry about emptying a bucket of water, keeping their basement at an ideal humidity level.
The homeowner is able to spend Christmas now focusing on festivities and less on their basement, as it is now waterproofed and their belongings safe.
When this Cumberland, ME homeowner began to have moisture problems in their garage, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to see if we could help. A door connected to their garage had been allowing rainwater to leak in and gather in the entryway. After they met with our representative, our installation crew was able to get started jackhammering out the old concrete floor of the entry space. Once clear, a fresh slab was poured within the space and WaterGuard piping was installed within the perimeter of the new floor. Running below the doorway, a TrenchDrain was used to capture any water leaking directly under the door in the future. The grate on the top of the TrenchDrain rests level with the floor, allowing any water to spill right in. Finally, a SuperSump system was installed to receive any captured water and remove it from the home through a discharge line.
This homeowner can now be sure any water that would have previously entered this space will be removed from the home without pooling up on their floor. The WaterGuard piping & SuperSump pump will keep this entryway water-free for the foreseeable future!
With the intention of finishing their basement, this Portland, ME, homeowner wanted to address the puddles that form when it rains. They reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems and met with System Design Specialist Jordan Tarbox to discuss waterproofing solutions for their basement. WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter, with the CleanSpace Wall System attached. Water is directed to a TripleSafe Sump Pump, which pushes it out through an exterior discharge line that’s buried underground, keeping it out of sight and directing it to a location where it will no longer be an issue. The homeowner is now able to finish their basement without the risk of water damage, saving money and protecting the health of their home.
Since 2012, this Portland, ME, homeowner has had a problem with their foundation shifting and moisture in the basement creating a musty smell. Worried about air quality and the health of their home, they booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems for help. System Design Specialist Lou DiStasio met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a system that would save their home and create a safter basement.
The shifting foundation needed to be addressed first, and to take care of it, StableLock was installed to save the foundation. Over time, stone foundations break apart and shift, resulting in an unstable home and sinking floors that could ultimately result in the foundation totally failing. Typically, with a failing foundation, the home would need to be lifted for a period of time in order for the old foundation to be removed and a new one poured. With StableLock, not only do homeowners save money, but they don’t have to move out of their house, and SableLock can be completed in just a few days. StableLock fills the voids in the old wall and uses modern concrete forming and shoring methods to stabilize the old wall, leaving a new, smooth foundation wall. With StableLock installed and the foundation stabilized, the next step was to address the moisture issues of the basement. To maintain a safe level of humidity and prevent mold and musty smells, a SaniDry Sedona was installed with a Condensate Pump so the homeowner won’t have to ever empty a bucket of water. Not only does this keep the SaniDry Sedona running as needed, but the homeowner can travel without concern of their dehumidifier not working. Now the home is protected against moisture, and their foundation is no longer at risk of failing and is stronger than before.
