The previous homeowner tried to keep water out of their crawl space by making a homemade sump pump which left the new homeowner with a damp, dirty and smelly crawl space. The team at MidAmerica Basement Systems made the crawl space dryer, cleaner and healthier by installing CleanSpace liner and a SmartSump pump system. The new homeowner is very relieved for their new and improved crawl space!
A dirt crawlspace can cause problems for homeowners, like drafts and moisture. This was the case for a homeowner in Cameron, Illinois. They knew they needed to make a change to improve their crawlspace.
We were able to help by encapsulating the crawlspace using CleanSpace, Drainage Matting, SmartDrain, and vent covers. This will not only fix the existing problems, but also provide benefits like lower energy bills and improved air quality.
Here's a breakdown of the changes made:
By making these improvements, the homeowner can expect a more comfortable and healthy living environment, as well as potentially lower energy costs.
Mary of Milan called MidAmerica Basement Systems because the floors above her crawlspace were starting to sink and and sag, and her crawlspace was damp. She met with design specialist Mike Banks who talked to her about stabilizing the crawlspace with Smart Jacks and encapsulating the space with CleanSpace. Now the crawlspace is dry and stable. The images show CleanSpace encapsulation.
Rick and Cindy were looking to create more storage in their home, but the only place that was left was the leaky, dark crawlspace. They heard of MidAmerica Basement Systems crawlspace encapsulations, and reached out. Joe inspected their situation, and offered them CleanSpace with a SmartDrain. CleanSpace Drainage Matting was installed across the dirt floor to help guide and direct any moisture to the SmartDrain. CleanSpace Liner was than installed over top and around the foundation walls to permanently seal off the ground from the rest of the home. Keeping the crawlspace completely dry, the SmartDrain discharges any water from the area, allowing for Rick and Cindy to effectively use the crawlspace as a storage area.
This building's crawlspace was not only dark and dingy, but the soil had been affected by seepage from an old heater, causing a toxic vapor. The experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems installed the CleanSpace encapsulation system. The soon to be tenants of the new downtown apartment complex will be pleased to know the toxic vapors are trapped, and won't be affecting them in the slightest!
