To give his home a modern look and long-term protection, we performed a complete roof replacement using IKO Dynasty shingles in Granite Black. During the process, we stripped away the old shingles, applied SealoronXT Deck Tape over all the plywood seams, layered SealoronXT Ice & Water in the vulnerable zones, and rolled out VeloraONE underlayment across the rest of the surface. The new IKO shingles were then installed, offering algae-resistant copper granules and a 130 mph wind warranty. The results? This was another 'Roof Your Neighborhood' project in the town of Glastonbury, CT. When homeowners in the same community invest in their roof at the same time, we can offer a sizable discount on materials, as we are able to buy them in bulk. The first part of the process entailed removing and recycling one layer of old shingles. This was followed by inspecting and replacing all deteriorated plywood, so that we could safely install an underlayment membrane for added moisture protection. The finished shingles here are Slatestone Gray.
