After a full inspection, our crew got to work by removing the old shingles and checking the plywood decking for any damage. We installed SealoronXT Deck Tape between each plywood seam to seal out moisture, then laid down SealoronXT Ice & Water Shield in the most vulnerable areas. Over the rest of the roof, we added VeloraONE Roof Underlayment to create a strong barrier. Lastly, we installed IKO Dynasty shingles, built to withstand winds up to 130mph. At this 1960's colonial style home located in Willington, CT we completely tore off the existing roof and installed a new roofing system. After we stripped the existing shingles and hauled them to the Asphalt Roof Recycling Center in Stratford, CT we replaced 4 sheets of damaged plywood decking. To finish this roof off, we removed and replaced all of the lead chimney flashing to ensure that no water can come through the chimney to the interior of the home. To protect the home and prevent leaks in the future, we first replaced any damaged plywood decking and laid down our Klaus Larsen Roofing SealoronXT Ice & Water self-sealing membrane to create a moisture barrier between the decking and the shingles. For even more protection, we installed our own Velora One Underlayment, a high performance synthetic underlayment designed to protect the home in even the most severe weather. During the roof replacement, we also replaced two of their skylight with brand new Velux skylights with Laminated, Low-E, "Clean, Safe, Quiet" glass with Velux factory flashing kit. It's ideal to install brand new skylights at the same time as a new roof install as it's very difficult to re-flash an existing skylight.
