But the real magic happens in the next steps, where we ensure long-term protection against future leaks and water damage. First, we applied our Klaus Larsen Sealoron XT Deck Tape to each board, sealing the gaps between them. This tape not only prevents water from slipping through but also allows the wood to breathe, ensuring durability.

To further fortify the roof, we installed the Sealoron XT Ice & Water membrane along the edges, valleys, and eaves. This extra layer of protection guards against wind-driven rain, snow, and ice, shielding the most vulnerable areas of the roof. Finally, we covered the entire decking with Velora One Roof Underlayment, providing a crucial barrier between the shingles and the wood. Even in the event of an intense storm where a shingle might come loose, this underlayment ensures that water won’t seep into the home. Richard contacted Klaus Roofing of Ohio regarding a leak in the roof we installed a few years ago. The leak was coming into a room on the back side of his home, where the roof had been affected by storm damage. Upon inspection, we identified damaged IKO Cambridge Dual Brown shingles and underlying materials.
