Uneven Floors Leveled in Forest City, IA

These homeowners were concerned about their uneven floors. They were already planning to have their radon mitigated, so they decided to have some work done in their crawlspace as well.

They gave us a call for a free estimate, so we sent System Design Specialist James Denning to look at the crawlspace and determine if they were causing the floors to sag. James found that there was a damp, musty smell coming from the crawlspace due to excess moisture in the air, which was also causing the floor supports to weaken. After discussing the options with James and seeing the pre-mailer book they received about crawlspace repairs, they decided to have us take care of their crawlspace repairs. Our team determined that they needed to bury the downspouts so that water could not get into the crawlspace and cause problems with moisture. The team then installed Silver Gloe Insulation to help save on energy cost for the homeowners. Finally, our team addressed the support problems by using SmartJacks and adding supplemental beams to even out the floor as well as installing a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to finish protecting the support beams from moisture.

The homeowners were so glad that they had us help with their crawlspace. They were grateful that we were able to work with and around their Radon company as well. Check out their newly secured crawlspace!

Wet Basement in Iowa Falls, IA Waterproofed

Dave H. has been wanting to finish his basement to add more living space. He noticed that water was entering in multiple areas, and it was affecting the project. Looking to continue with finishing the basement, he called Thrasher Foundation Repair to learn more about waterproofing his basement.

System Design Specialist Tyler Dopheide went out to Dave’s home. He was able to identify the areas that water was coming in and come up with a water proofing solution for the basement. The crew started with installing WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement and then installing a Triple Safe Sump Pump, so then the water would have a place to go and not collect in the basement. Then to keep the walls dry, we encapsulated the space with CleanSpace. Dave was very happy with how the project turned out and gave us a 10/10.

Flooded Crawl Space Now Dry in Bloomfield, IA

Steve S. was tired of having a musty smell in his basement. Water would be constantly coming into his crawl space, keeping it wet and allowing it to smell. Concerned with other problems this would cause, he decided to give Thrasher Foundation Repair a call.

The Thrasher Foundation Repair crew went out to the home and was able to come up with a solution to keep the crawl space dry. Drainage matting was installed on the floor and then the whole space was encapsulated with CleanSpace, a very thick linear to keep water from coming in through the walls and floor. A sump pump was put in to then water could be directed out of the crawl space and a dehumidifier was installed to keep the humidity levels low.

CrawlSpace Encapsulation in Willow Springs MO.

Susan was having issues with her crawlspace getting moisture in the area. Moisture in a crawlspace can cause further damage to the floor joints below, such as mold, rot, and beam failure. The crawlspace of your home must be protected to ensure there is no moisture getting in. This can affect your home above.

For this project, CleanSpace was installed, which is a thick liner, like one in a pool. There was a drainage mat put underneath the CleanSpace, to ensure water and moisture can flow freely beneath the lining, and into the Sump Pump that was installed. A Sump Pump was put in, to help maintain a dry crawlspace, with the final product being a drain line, to help get the water out of the crawlspace. Susan can now rest easy that her crawlspace is protected from the elements.
