This customer bought a new house in September, knowing that it had problems with the foundation. They had a plan to sell the house in 3-4 years and make some money by fixing the foundation issues. To make sure the foundation was stable for the future, they came to us at Midwest for help.

The homeowner had a problem with water leaking into their basement walls, which was very frustrating. Midwest installed CleanSpace to fix it. This homeowner wanted to keep his basement dry because he had been struggling with water sitting in his basement. He had used our services previously, so he knew just who to call when he needed waterproofing solutions.

We sent Service Technician Michael Holtzbauer to inspect the basement and determine what was causing water to get into the homeowners basement. Michael found that there were no waterproofing systems in place to protect the homeowner's basement, so water was not leaving the basement once it got in. Also, Michael saw that the drainage system was not pumping water out of the drains as they easily froze over in the winter and prevented water from getting out. Michael discussed with the homeowner some options for waterproofing as well as fixing the small drainage system, and the homeowner decided to start with fixing the drainage system. Our installation team installed 2 TripleSafe Sump Pump Systems included 4 IceGuards which protect the sump pump from freezing over in the winter. These sump pumps will also help to pump water out of the basement as opposed to the previous drainage system which only ran water downhill.

This homeowner wanted to have a dry basement because it was getting harder and harder for him to keep mopping up all of the water. He wanted this problem solved by experts in basement waterproofing, so he gave us a call. We sent System Design Specialist Luke Miller to inspect the basement and determine what was causing water to get into the basement as well as design a comprehensive solution to keep water out. Luke found that the floor/wall join around the perimeter of the basement was leaking water onto the floor as well as through some cracks in the floor itself. Upon seeing this, he knew that full perimeter solution was needed as well as a lateral line to capture water that was seeping in through the floor cracks, so he called for an installation team as per the homeowner's request. One of our installation teams utilized a full perimeter WaterGuard Interior Drainage System as well as a partial height CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. After that, they  installed a lateral line to capture water that was coming through the middle of the floor before it could get into the basement. They topped it off by installing a TripleSafe Sump Pump System to push all of this water up and away from the basement.
