In good old Bettendorf, IA, we’ve got a tale of two concretes—meet the "before" photo, complete with sunken slabs busy doing the wave! The owner gave us a shout before things took a serious nosedive.

Our System Design Specialist, Chris Hebbel, arrived on-site to inspect the uneven concrete and design a permanent stabilization and leveling plan.

As you can see, our powerhouse production crew, led by Foreman Ricky and Jaylen, got right to work with our trusty duo: PolyLevel® and NexusPro®. Ricky and Jaylen injected our high-density PolyLevel® Concrete Leveling Solutions beneath the surface, neatly tucking those lonely slabs right back into place. Next, they expertly applied NexusPro® Cracked Concrete Repair to the joints, saying “no thanks” to pesky water intrusions in style.

Such misaligned surfaces not only diminish curb appeal but pose immediate trip hazards for foot traffic. To fix this, Foreman Justin Maddox Jr. and his crew member Brantly employed our precise concrete repair system, using our specialized PolyLevel® system and NexusPro® joint sealant to revitalize the entire walkway. By injecting high-density PolyLevel® geopolymer foam through discrete ports beneath the slab, the team filled underlying soil voids and successfully lifted the concrete back to a stable, flush alignment. The crew then mechanically sealed all joints and cracks with flexible NexusPro®, guaranteeing a smooth, weather-resistant finish in the 'after' photo. Notice in the before photo, uneven and sinking concrete created trip hazards where shovel edges continuously catch, threatening further structural cracking if left unaddressed. Concerned about worsening conditions, safety hazards, and rising water damage risks, the homeowner called for a permanent fix. Following an initial site evaluation by System Design Specialist Rob Chismark, Foreman Ricky and crew member Markell arrived on site to deliver a targeted, long-term solution.

Our team restored safety and alignment to the property using advanced geopolymer injection and elastomeric sealing systems. The crew injected high-density PolyLevel® geopolymer foam beneath the sunken slabs to fill subterranean voids, compact loose subgrade soil, and lift the concrete back to a flush elevation. To stop future soil erosion, the team sealed all joints and cracks with NexusPro® joint sealant, forming a durable barrier against moisture infiltration, harsh UV rays, and Midwest freeze-thaw cycles. As shown in the after photo, the concrete is now perfectly smooth, permanently stabilized, and safe for everyday use.

Jennifer was very upset that her sidewalk had sunken 2 inches from her porch when her home was recently new. She searched for solutions to her problem and found MidAmerica Basement Systems’ PolyLevel solution. During her inspection, Mac had diagnosed how the issue had become apparent so quickly. A downspout was placed right next to the sidewalk, and was causing washouts, leaving large voids for the concrete to sink in. PolyLevel was injected under the concrete to fill the void, made of a waterproof material, and lift the slab back to its original position. PolyLevel helped close the 2-inch gap between the sidewalk and porch, leaving it looking the same as it did when it was first poured. It was also suggested that installing a new downspout line away from the concrete to prevent future washouts elsewhere.

Terrance and Deb were having issues with their sidewalk to their front door. Some areas had sunk terribly, leaving the entrance unsafe to access. They contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to have their sidewalk lifted and leveled for the safety of their guests. Cole offered them the solution PolyLevel to be injected under the concrete. Once PolyLevel is injected, it fills the voids to create a stable hold, and expands to lift the concrete back to level. After PolyLevel sets, NexusPro Joint Sealant is applied to all the cracks to prevent future washouts of the ground underneath. This allows for a longer-lasting, stabilized fix for the sidewalk.
