We arrived with our comprehensive suite of professional solutions, including CleanSpace, a Premium Radon Mitigation System, SuperSump, WaterGuard, and IceGuard, to transform these basement woes into a definitive victory. A homeowner in Dubuque, Iowa, struggled with persistent water intrusion in their basement that threatened both their living comfort and overall property value. With plans to sell the home in the near future, resolving the wet basement issue became an urgent priority. Unmanaged hydrostatic pressure forced groundwater through the wall-footing joints and stone masonry fractures, creating damp conditions, potential structural risks, and an unappealing environment for prospective buyers.
To eliminate water intrusion and maximize the home's market value, System Design Specialist Tim Rollet evaluated the property and engineered a complete waterproofing and vapor isolation system using WaterGuard® Interior Drainage, CleanSpace® Drainage Matting, and the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier through MidAmerica Basement Systems.
Foreman Justin Maddox and crew member Devin S. arrived on-site to execute the installation. The team excavated along the interior perimeter footing and installed the WaterGuard sub-floor channel system, designed to capture seeping groundwater and direct it toward a sump pump discharge location. To address floor and wall seepage, the crew laid heavy-duty CleanSpace Drainage Matting along troublesome floor sections, creating a dimpled channel path that prevents water from pooling underneath.
Finally, Justin and Devin S. installed the 20-mil thick CleanSpace poly-reinforced liner across the interior walls, attaching it securely and tucking it straight into the WaterGuard drainage track. This airtight barrier stops moisture vapor transmission, channels wall leaks directly into the subterranean drainage system, and instantly transforms the dark, damp basement into a bright, clean, and dry space. The project successfully restored stability, improved indoor air quality, and gave the homeowner complete confidence as they prepared to put their home on the market.
