A Watertown homeowner contacted Brown Roofing after noticing that the roof was beginning to fail. The shingles were breaking down with age, and the chimney had been sealed with caulk instead of real flashing. Inspector Dennis walked her through the issues and explained what a proper, long-term solution would look like. Under the direction of Project Manager Jared, the crew removed the old roofing, replaced sections of damaged tongue-and-groove decking with fresh CDX plywood, and installed a modern underlayment system. The new roof was finished with IKO Dynasty shingles in Biscayne, along with professionally installed metal chimney flashing and a new cricket to channel water away from the chimney base. This homeowner needed help with their beautiful stone chimney. The Brown Roofing team repointed the chimney by removing damaged mortar, and replacing it with new mortar. The pictures above show a close up of damaged motor, and a full view of the finished chimney.
