Curtis in Union, CT, reached out after concerns started developing with the roofing system on his home, garage, and shed. At around 18 years old, the roof was beginning to show wear with loose shingles, aging materials, and ventilation issues that were affecting overall performance.
This property included a combination of traditional sloped roofing areas along with a flat roof section, requiring different roofing systems tailored to each part of the structure. For the main home, our team installed a complete SuperRoof system designed to provide enhanced protection across both the standard shingle areas and the low-slope roof section.
The garage and shed each received full regular roof replacements to match the updated appearance and improve long-term durability throughout the property.
To build the new system, we installed SealoronXT Ice & Water Shield in vulnerable areas, VeloraONE Roof Underlayment across the roof deck, and SealoronXT Deck Tape to help seal the plywood seams against moisture intrusion.
The sloped roofing sections were finished with IKO shingles in Summit Gray, while the flat roof area was completed using Polyglass roofing material in Gray Slate for a clean, cohesive appearance across the entire property.
With the project complete, Curtis now has a fully updated roofing system with improved ventilation, stronger protection, and a refreshed look for the home, garage, and shed.
Along with replacing the roof, we completely removed and replaced the flashing with new lead chimney flashing.
The homeowners of this ranch style home in Storrs, CT reached out to Klaus Larsen because of leaking on the porch. The previous roof that was on the home was a rubber roof, which the homeowners installed in 2005. After tearing off one layer of exising material, the damaged plywood decking was installed. Three rows of Ice & Water was installed, along with a ProArmor Synthetic Underlayment, which is engineered to repel water. The old flashing was removed and replaced with lead flashing. A new exhaust vent hood with a built-in damper was installed, along with new Velux skylights. The shingle color is Quarry Gray.

A fresh cleaning not only improved the look of his home but also ensured his gutters would function properly and stay free from debris. Now, Michael’s home looks as good as new, with a sleek, clean finish that complements his property.

Paul is now happy with his new gutter system installation, which will last for years to come. That’s the Klaus Roofing Way!
