The roof was the first step in the renovation of this highly ornate & historic home in Coventry, CT. Our greatest overall challenge was working with so many complicated angles, including curved overhangs on the dormers. For the decking, each piece of plywood had to be custom cut in order to compensate for the more obscure corners, before being nailed directly into strips of skip-sheathing.
This project in Coventry, CT involved the removal of 3-Tab shingles on both a home, breeze way, garage and additional detached garage, built around 1960. All structures were roofed in the same method. Part of our structural repairs involved removing the wood stove chimney and sealing the opening with plywood. Along with a ridge vent, we replaced all vent pipe boots and flashed the chimney with lead.
