Carl's home in Hyde Park, NY, had reached a point where the original roof was beginning to show its age. At approximately 23 years old, the existing roofing system had protected the home for decades, but Carl wanted to take a proactive approach before age-related issues became larger concerns.

Rather than focusing solely on the shingles, Carl viewed the project as an opportunity to improve multiple parts of the home's exterior at the same time. The plan included replacing the aging roof, upgrading ventilation with new static roof vents, and improving the home's water-management system.

Once the roofing project got underway, the old materials were removed, and the roof deck was evaluated to determine where new plywood would be needed. From there, the new roofing system was installed, giving the home a fresh layer of protection and a renewed appearance. For the finished look, Carl selected Shadow Brown architectural shingles, a color that adds warmth and character while complementing a wide range of home styles.

In addition to the roof work, the project included the installation of RainDrop gutter protection. By helping keep leaves and debris out of the gutter system, RainDrop allows water to flow more efficiently and reduces the amount of maintenance required throughout the year.

By combining a roof replacement with gutter protection improvements, Carl invested in a solution designed to help protect the home from both above and along the roofline. The result is a cleaner-looking exterior, improved drainage performance, and a roofing system ready for many years of Hudson Valley weather.
